Infection Zero System

A comprehensive, structured biosecurity and sanitation program designed to prevent the introduction, transmission, and persistence of pathogens within poultry and livestock production environments.

Rather than depending on a single disinfectant or a one-time sanitation procedure, the system applies a layered biosecurity approach.

Each stage addresses a specific source or pathway of infection—from routine daily contamination and drinking-water systems to end-of-cycle sanitation and environmental management.

When these measures are implemented consistently and according to the appropriate protocols, the Infection Zero System establishes a cleaner, more stable, and lower-pathogen production environment. This supports animal health, improves production conditions, reduces preventable disease pressure, and ultimately contributes to more consistent productivity and farm profitability.

1. Daily Hygiene Control

Continuous biosecurity begins with daily hygiene.

Daily Hygiene Control is designed to maintain a consistently clean production environment by reducing the accumulation of pathogens on frequently contaminated surfaces, equipment, and operational areas.

Routine sanitation helps prevent pathogen loads from building up throughout the production cycle and establishes a baseline level of biosecurity that is maintained every day rather than addressed only when a problem occurs.

2. Weekly Shock Disinfection

Weekly Shock Disinfection provides an additional layer of intensive sanitation beyond routine daily hygiene.

Certain areas of a farm experience greater contamination pressure than others. High-traffic zones, equipment, service areas, and other high-risk locations may require periodic intensive treatment to prevent accumulated contamination from becoming an ongoing infection source.

The weekly shock program is therefore designed as a higher-intensity sanitation intervention, helping reduce pathogen pressure where routine daily hygiene alone may not provide sufficient control.

3. Water Hygiene & Pipeline Shock

Clean drinking water is a critical component of effective farm biosecurity.

Water systems can become a potential pathway for microbial contamination, particularly when organic material and biofilm accumulate inside tanks, pipes, drinker lines, and other components of the water distribution system.

The Water Hygiene & Pipeline Shock program combines routine drinking-water sanitation with periodic pipeline shock treatment. The objective is to maintain cleaner water throughout the distribution system while addressing contamination that may develop inside the pipelines themselves.

Primary Objective

  • Reduce and manage biofilm formation.
  • Sanitize internal water lines through periodic shock treatment.

4. Terminal Disinfection

Terminal Disinfection is the complete sanitation and reset of the production environment between production cycles.

Once animals are removed from the facility, the shed and its associated equipment can retain organic material and environmental contamination. Terminal disinfection therefore represents a critical opportunity to break the contamination cycle before the next production group enters the facility.

The process is designed to systematically address sheds, equipment, surfaces, and other relevant areas following the removal of animals and completion of the required cleaning procedures.

5. Fumigation

Fumigation provides an additional deep-disinfection layer for areas that may be difficult to treat effectively through conventional liquid application.

Farm buildings contain numerous cracks, joints, corners, gaps, enclosed spaces, and other difficult-to-reach locations where contamination may remain after conventional cleaning and liquid disinfection.

Fumigation uses an appropriate gaseous disinfecting process to extend sanitation into areas that may be difficult to reach with conventional surface application.

  • Address cracks, corners, joints, and other hard-to-reach locations.
  • Complement conventional cleaning and liquid disinfection.

* Fumigation should always be performed using an approved method, under appropriate safety controls, and according to the specific product and facility protocol.

6. Ammonia & Litter Control

Effective biosecurity also depends on controlling the environment in which animals live.

Excess moisture, poor litter condition, and elevated ammonia can negatively affect shed conditions and animal comfort while contributing to an unfavorable production environment.

Ammonia & Litter Control focuses on maintaining better litter conditions, managing moisture, and reducing ammonia and odor within the housing environment. This environmental-management layer complements the disinfection program by addressing conditions that can contribute to poor hygiene and reduced animal performance.
